Submissions

Writing Space Press publishes carefully edited anthologies of poetry and short prose.
We are interested in writing that values clarity, restraint, and craft — work that trusts the reader and rewards rereading.

We publish deliberately and selectively. Our books are curated, not aggregated.

Submissions are open from 6 February 2026 until 3 April 2026.

Submissions will not be accepted before this date.We are unable to consider work submitted outside this window.

We aim to respond to all submissions by 29 May 2026.
Due to volume, we are unable to provide individual feedback on declined submissions.

What we are looking for

We welcome submissions of:

– Poetry
– Short prose (fiction or reflective nonfiction)

We are drawn to writing that:

– observes rather than lectures
– trusts implication
– avoids bloat and over-explanation
– holds its nerve

We are not interested in:

– manifestos or polemic
– unworked personal writing presented as finished work
– trend-led or topical performance
– work that relies on explanation instead of craft

Length and format

A Reading Space (working title) is a small-format, pocket-sized anthology designed for brief, attentive reading — moments of pause and reflection that reward rereading.

For this reason, we are interested in short, self-contained pieces.

Poetry:
– Up to 40 lines per poem
– Shorter poems are welcome

Short prose:
– Up to 800 words per piece
– Flash-length and compressed forms are particularly welcome

Please submit no more than two pieces per contributor in total.

Longer works or multiple submissions beyond this limit will not be considered.

Human-authored work

Writing Space Press publishes human-authored writing.

AI tools may be used for limited support purposes (such as spelling or grammar), but not for the generation, shaping, or rewriting of creative content. The creative work must be the contributor’s own, reflecting their judgement, voice, and intent.
